DESCRIPTION: A pencil drawing on paper of an elederly woman by Dorothy Hepworth. Excellent provenance as the work has been with the Bloomsbury Workshop and the artist's studio sale at Christie's. The Bloomsbury Workshop is a gallery that specializes in the works of the Bloomsbury Group artists and writers such as Virginia Woolf, Roger Fry and Vanessa Bell. Hepworth was associated with the group, which was also referred to as the Bloomsbury Set. There are two Bloomsbury Workshop labels on the reverse of the drawing, one at the gallery's old address at Galen Place and another from the new address at Pied Bull Court - both in London WC1. Both labels make reference to Dorothy Hepworth's studio sale at Christie's. The subject matter is typical of a Hepworth drawing and depicts a seated elderly lady. The work is framed behind glass.
