DESCRIPTION: A superb, early period post-impressionist oil on canvas by the important French painter Eugène Antoine Durenne entitled 'La Cuisiniere'. This is an early rare work by the artist, dated 1908. Durenne works were photographed and catalogued by Galerie Durand-Ruel, which was established by Paul Durand-Ruel and was concerned with establishing the first impressionists such as Whistler, Degas, Renoir, Sisley, Manet, Pissarro and Monet. There is a five digit number on the back of the painting (17602), which may be the Durand-Ruel catalogue number. The painting is presented in a high quality frame.
