DESCRIPTION: A superb, framed, post-impressionist oil on paper by the important French painter Eugène Antoine Durenne showing 2 boats on the shore with building and sea below a cloudy sky. Likely painted en plein air. Durenne's paintings were photographed and catalogued by Galerie Durand-Ruel, which was established by Paul Durand-Ruel and was concerned with promoting the first impressionist painters such as Whistler, Degas, Renoir, Sisley, Manet, Pissarro and Monet.
