DESCRIPTION: A large painting by John Copnall titled 'a pueblo first light' (village first light). The work is signed upper left and titled verso. Painted when Copnall lived in Spain and exhibited at the Piccadilly Gallery in Cork Street, London (likely in 1955, 1956 or 1958). Copnall also exhibited there in 1961 but by that time his works were becoming more abstracted and stylised.
