Émile Monier Cupid and Psyche Figurines
DESCRIPTION: For sale - An extremely rare pair of figurines modelled by the famous French sculptor Émile Monier. The characters are Cupid and Psyche, originally from the story 'Metamorphoses' (also known as The Golden Ass). Both figurines are signed on the base. The figurines have been through Bonhams auction house, LOndon. The lot tickets accompany the items.
DATE: c.1930s
SIZE: Approximately 28cm (11 inches) tall.
PROVENANCE: Private collection, London ... Sale: Bonhams, London ... Private collection, London.
CONDITION: Cupid is in excellent condition. Psyche has been damaged and repaired. The repair is visible. There is a hairline to the arm. The pair display magnificently though.
