DESCRIPTION: A stunning, framed oil painting on canvas by artist Jack Smith in an abstract style reminiscent of Piet Mondrian's hard-edge works with elements of constructivism. The work is titled 'Fractured on Yellow'. The painting shows geometric shapes clustered in the quarters of the canvas as if a whole structyre has fractured or 'fragmented' as the title suggests. On a pale yellow background. The painting is signed, titled and dated 1993 verso. Excellent provenance having originally come from Angela Flowers Gallery East in Kingsland Road, east London with catalogue number 'AFG 25727'. Jack Smith exhibited frequently at the Flowers Gallery. The work is housed in a white painted wood finish frame.
