DESCRIPTION: An Ashtead Potters M34 Madonna and Child Figure (g) Ivory glaze with blue robe by Phoebe Stabler.
MARKS: Base marks include the early Ashtead Potters mark indicating 1923/1924, embossed M34 model number highlighted in blue, 'g' indicating Ivory glaze. Embossed at the back of the base is the name of the designer 'PHOEBE STABLER' in black.
COLOUR: 'Ivory' as indicated by the 'g' glaze mark with blue robe.
MATERIAL: Earthenware
SIZE: 23.4cm (9.2 inches) tall
CONDITION: Excellent. A well defined example, probably an early firing. Phoebe Stabler's name on the base is very pronounced. On later firings this becomes difficult to read.
