One of our collectors has uploaded a fabulous selection of paintings by British abstract artist John Copnall (1928–2007). These works were created across different periods of the artist's career from the mixed media work 'Tangos de Malaga', which was created in the 1960s through to his 1970s striped works, right up to his 1980s abstract expressionist paintings which were produced on a grand scale often using bold, bright colours.

We've some superb works by British abstract artist Margaret Mellis too. Mellis was one of the founding members of the artists colony that emerged in Cornwall's St. Ives during the 1940s. Mellis was master colourist and was influenced by the groun breaking works of Ben Nicholson. She studied at Edinburgh College of Art alongside William Gear and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham and was later to become mentor to a young Damien Hirst. Margaret Mellis has been gaining popularity over the years and a number of her works have made high prices at Sotheby's recently.
